After graduating in Land Management at The University of Reading in 2006, Samuel started his career at West End practice Brecker Grossmith asset managing a number of mixed use Central London portfolios including shops, restaurants and office units, on behalf of a number of private clients. After qualifying as an MRICS Chartered Surveyor May 2009 he established a following within the speciality coffee, leisure and fitness sectors acting for a range of niche operators on their expansion, most notably artisan coffee operator Taylor St Baristas and craft beer champions Brewdog. In 2013 he joined the London Licensed & Leisure department at Colliers International where he was involved in the Leasing, Acquisition and Disposal of a range of pub, restaurant and leisure property, acting on behalf of institutional pension funds, property companies, restaurant and pubcos, including some of the largest licensed property operators in the UK.

In May 2016, Samuel set up May & Company (Real Estate Advisors) to provide Landlords, Developers and Occupiers with a boutique consultancy with a firm emphasis on Leasing, Acquisitions and Disposals specialising in the Food & Beverage, Health & Fitness and broader Leisure sectors.
